Olivaro® Ingredients: Chromium, the 22-Name Blend and More

The Olivaro® label is short but dense: one named mineral, a 200 mg blend of 22 ingredients and a simple lemon-flavored base. This overview walks through all of it, grouped so the list is easier to take in.

Chromium (as chromium picolinate)

Each 1 mL serving supplies 0.7 mcg of chromium in the picolinate form. Chromium is the one ingredient printed with its own amount, and it anchors the label's focus on glucose metabolism. Our chromium picolinate page covers the form in detail, and the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheet is a good neutral reference.

The Proprietary Blend: herb and fruit extracts

The blend totals 200 mg per serving and lists 22 names in label order. The plant-based group is the largest:

  • Maca root extract, a Peruvian root traditionally used for energy.
  • Grape seed extract and green tea leaf extract (see green tea leaf).
  • Guarana seed, African mango seed (details here), eleuthero root and astragalus root extracts.
  • Gymnema leaf extract, Coleus forskohlii root, capsicum fruit and grapefruit fruit extracts.
  • Panax ginseng aerial extract and raspberry ketones.

Most of these have a long history in traditional wellness use, which is the reason the brand chose them for a metabolic-support formula. Several, such as green tea and ginseng, also have public overviews; the NCCIH page on green tea is a good starting point.

The Proprietary Blend: amino acids

Eight names in the blend are amino acids or amino-acid derivatives: L-Glutamine, L-Tyrosine, L-Arginine, Beta-alanine, GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), L-Ornithine HCl, L-Tryptophan and L-Carnitine. Amino acids are the building blocks the body uses for proteins and many everyday processes, and several of them are discussed in connection with energy and daily wellness. Our blog explains what each one is in the amino acids inside Olivaro®.

The Proprietary Blend: other compounds

One name does not fit either group: Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, a compound derived from licorice root. It rounds out the 22 and shows how varied the blend is by design.

A fair reading tip: the blend total is printed, individual amounts are not. That means no one can truthfully rank the 22 by quantity from the label alone. Our guide to reading a proprietary blend shows how to weigh that for any product.

Other ingredients

The supporting cast is plain and short: glycerin and water form the base, organic lemon extract and natural flavors give the lemon taste, and stevia extract (Reb A) and xylitol sweeten it. Sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate and citric acid keep the liquid fresh. There is no olive ingredient, despite the name. For general help reading any label, the NIH list of supplement fact sheets is useful.
